*inspired by nat's ".....teenage fiction..."*
I detest these sort of books: The kind that is filled with vivid sex scenes, hair-raising escapades from bitchy *female* bosses, finding a new life by finding a new man/woman. I feel that the content was 'manufactured' to cater to the crowd. In other words, the author wrote to please the readers by writing what they want to read about. They find it exciting, exhilarating, that it is so different from their mundane, listless lives.
These books are rubbish, from a literary stand of view. I feel that they tarnish the word 'books'. To me, books are meant to be wholesome, to be a product of the author's imagination and deep thoughts.
However, such degrading content in the new 'modern' books tells us something. The authors penned their books to earn money. It was done for cash. Wouldnt this make the book cheap?
I thought that books were meant to be products of the author's thoughts, musings and pure wholesome imagination. Give me books such as "Pants on Fire", "Why not?"...I condemn and critisize the authors. Is money so desirable till that have to stoop to those levels? What in the world os wrong with these writers?
These books may be funny, witty and cute, but no, they are not worthy to be called 'Books'. Their content is actually coarse, shallow and crude.
Need I say more?
